A chase in between a foodstuff truck and a stolen Jeep finished in a deadly shooting on an interstate in Tennessee, police claimed.
A 24-year-aged informed officers he was cooking in a food truck around a sector on Benton Avenue in Nashville on the night of Friday, May possibly 6, when a few armed guys came up to the truck and demanded that he give them dollars he owed 1 of them, the Metropolitan Nashville Law enforcement Office explained in a news launch Might 7.
The cook dinner and a mate did not have sufficient hard cash on them, so a person of the males took the keys to his Jeep, police said.
The two then agreed to drive the food truck to an ATM to get far more money in exchange for the keys, the cook stated, according to law enforcement. The guy who reportedly took the keys adopted them in the Jeep.
As they have been headed to the ATM, the driver of the Jeep out of the blue turned around and drove off, the cook instructed law enforcement.
The cook’s buddy, who was driving the food stuff truck, reportedly chased right after him, according to law enforcement.
The chase ongoing on Interstate 440, wherever the cook instructed officers that the driver of the Jeep slowed down and rolled down the passenger window, according to law enforcement.
“He claimed he was in concern of remaining shot at, so he fired on the Jeep,” police stated. “The Jeep arrived to a stop.”
The foods truck kept going, law enforcement mentioned, but the cook dinner dialed 911 and the two then “returned to the scene and waited for police to get there.”
The driver of the Jeep, who law enforcement feel is a 27-yr-previous from Nashville, was taken to a healthcare facility, in which he died, in accordance to police. He did not have identification on him and will be recognized by fingerprints.
Police stated they are investigating, and no costs have been filed.
