BEIJING, CHINA — China is placing better emphasis on foodstuff safety and encouraging all provinces to strengthen grain yields, according to a key policy doc issued on Feb. 21, Reuters noted.
The rural policy blueprint known as the “No. 1 doc,” also phone calls for improved support for its domestic seed market.
China has elevated its concentration on food safety because the pandemic hit significant foods exporting nations and lifted worries about foods provide steadiness, Reuters explained.
“The uncertainty and instability of the exterior condition has elevated drastically,” Tang Renjian, agriculture minister, told a media briefing. “On grain stability, we must not choose it lightly for just one minute.”
The country will establish a national foodstuff security industry belt that aims to hook up all of the country’s crucial grain areas.
For the seed sector, the doc urged faster implementation of main scientific initiatives in breeding and much better defense of mental property legal rights.
“It is necessary to decide on a group of outstanding enterprises to give priority assist,” Zhang Taolin, vice agriculture minister, explained at the briefing.
China mentioned it also will stabilize output of soybeans and produce edible oilseed crops, although diversifying its imports of agricultural merchandise.
It also called for the making of a modern day animal farming technique.
